Welcome to the Lions Social Club
We offer a friendly and welcoming community venue with a proud history and a modern outlook. Originally established as a traditional working men’s social club, the club has evolved over the years into an inclusive space that welcomes everyone from the local community. Today, we are proud to be open to men and women of all ages, creating a warm and sociable atmosphere for all who visit.
The Lions Social Club is a members club, although all are welcome to apply to join us, subject to the club's constitution and membership guidelines. With members ranging from 18 to over 80 years old, we pride ourselves on offering an environment where everyone feels comfortable, valued, and part of the community. Whether you are looking for a place to relax with friends, enjoy social events, meet new people, or simply become part of a long-standing local club, there is something here for everyone.
Over the years, the club has built a reputation as a friendly and inclusive venue where generations come together. From regular entertainment and social gatherings to community events and live sport, the Lions Social Club continues to be an important part of local social life while maintaining the traditions and values that have made the club special for so many years.
We are always pleased to welcome new members and visitors alike. For more information on becoming a member and joining our community or if you would just like to visit, please see our membership section here.
Lions Social Club has a long and proud history within the local community dating back many years. The club was originally based at Lions House on West Quay, Bridgwater, where it became a well-known meeting place and social hub for local residents. As the club continued to grow in popularity and membership, it later relocated to its current premises at 17 West Quay, Bridgwater in 1983, where it remains today.
Over the decades, the club has continued to evolve while keeping the strong community spirit and welcoming atmosphere that have always been at the heart of the Lions Social Club. From its roots as a traditional working men’s social club to the inclusive community venue it is today, the club has remained an important part of social life in Bridgwater for generations of members and guests alike.
We would also like to clarify that, although our name is often confused with theirs, the Lions Social Club has no affiliation or association with Lions Clubs International or any Lions International charity organisation. We are an entirely independent social club serving our local community.
